I made two contributions to the current issue of ESPN the Magazine (The Boston Issue!):

  • An interview with Chipper Jones about switch hitting. Page 46.
  • A quote from David Backes on the importance (or lack of importance) pro athletes place on betting odds. Page 72.

Neither has much to do with Boston.

New in ESPN the Magazine (Volume 14, Issue 10)…

In honor of “Kyle Gets Buckets 2.0” (see below), ESPN had me put together a page (27 in the latest issue) in the Go section about some of the best trick shot videos now available on YouTube.  They’re all here.  Peruse at your leisure.

I also scribbled something together on the next page to mark Maya Moore’s upcoming debut in the WBNA.

New in ESPN the Magazine (Volume 14, Issue 9)…

I’m really proud of this one.  For a piece entitled “7 Things You Should Know about Organizing Prison Sports” (edit: readers with ESPN Insider access can read it here), I interviewed John Mahoney.  He’s the Recreation Program Leader at Sing Sing.  adamkrause took the awesome photo that accompanies the text.  You can find both on page thirty-six of the latest issue.
